What are the most significant cases and/or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

Watsons Turkiye was involved in a Competition Authority investigation. The company has succeeded to conclude the investigation without any penalties. After this investigation, Competition Authority visited the headquarters for an on-site investigation once again. As legal team, we structured a Competition Authority Training – Audit Programme (“Programme”) in the company. As per the Programme, a law firm specialised in Competition Law provides training once in a month and they also check the whatsapp messages, Teams messages and emails of our Trade teams. As a result of this programme, we created high awareness in the company and also achieved to avoid many risks arising from the market.

What strategic priorities are guiding you and your team in 2024?

This year we are mostly focused on Compliance. We are trying to establish a system to provide Compliance in the company. In this context we will be scanning Advertising Authority, Competition Authority, Data Protection Authority and other respective authority decisions and take actions in order to inform the company in an effective way and proceed in line with the Authority decisions. We are also focused on the Training in the company this year. We will be providing Marketing & Electronic Commerce & Data Protection & IP Law trainings in the company.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

Yes I am passionate about Mythology. I am broadcasting a podcast series, namely Ne Eksik Kaldi,  on a regular basis about the mythology on Spotify. Therefore, I read articles & books about mythology in my spare time – I am a part time researcher & podcaster – I have broadcasted 24 episodes so far. I want to improve my audience number in 2024 and extend my area in visual on YouTube or other visual platforms.
