What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

The most significant transaction of the past year was the finalisation of the on-going anti-trust investigation against MEDİA MARKT TURKEY. The investigation has been ongoing for quite some time and took a huge amount of time and dedication both from my team and our external counsel. In the end, it was very rewarding for all of us to hear from the authorities that we were to receive no fine or any administrative measures related to the investigation. This issue has brought our team great joy as we had a chance to defend our employer from a very high risk investigation where other parties of the investigation had received considerable amounts of administrative fines solely due to the hampering of the investigation process.

What strategic priorities are guiding you and your team in 2024?

The advancement of the digitalisation of all contract and legal affairs-related aspects of our work is a top priority for my team in the upcoming year. We will be utilising APIs to streamline different types of our workload, extend the internal cohesion of our contract management system and take a direct approach to embedding new AI tools to our existing workflows.

Do you have a cause, business related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

I am very much involved in the advancement of women’s careers in the tech sector, and I am already involved in several mentorships programmes ( WomeninTech, W@competition ) for new and upcoming women that are currently working in the retail and tech sector. I will keep extending my involvement in these programmes as it allows me to be a part of a movement that aims to provide great benefit to our society.
