What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

As the Roche Pharma Türkiye Legal and Compliance team, we provide support to our company across a broad range of legal and compliance-related topics, including commercial law, intellectual property rights, employment law, competition law, product promotion regulations, and more. Considering the trends in the pharmaceutical industry, our main focus currently revolves around digital health, real-world evidence projects, clinical trials, and projects related to access to health and medicine. In these projects, we mainly deal with data privacy law, telemedicine and digital health regulations, clinical trials legislation, and regulatory and reimbursement regulations.

What strategic priorities are guiding you and your team in 2024?

In 2024, as the Legal and Compliance team, we will focus on the implementation of new regulations and a new global system in our company. We believe that proper and compliant deployment of systems, in accordance with local laws and regulations, is important for managing potential legal and compliance risks. Additionally, conducting the right risk assessment and applying necessary controls before any deviation is crucial. As the Legal and Compliance team, we are planning to take advantage more of digital tools and the data already generated in the company to provide proactive legal and compliance support to our organisation.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

The industry in which we work gives us a very good reason to come to work every day. If we can touch a patient’s life every day and improve something, even if it is small, I cannot think of a more important reason than this.
