What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

Anex Tourism Group is a highly active and industry-leading tourism company with a diversified portfolio of companies in various sectors. The group consists of companies operating in multiple fields, especially Agency, Airline, Tour operator, Accommodation, Transportation, Cruise Tourism, Energy, and Construction.

Recently, my team and I have resolved many important legal issues in Türkiye and abroad. These legal matters include the purchase and rental of various hotel complexes, the acquisition of cruise ships, and the organisation of cruise tourism expeditions to the Greek islands.

In addition, we are responsible for all legal responsibilities for the acquisition and establishment of local and international companies, the construction of a large hotel project, and the first hotel-residential project in the region. Our achievements include managing a comprehensive operation in the tourism sector with millions of passengers through our agency companies, and we have successfully managed the legal aspects of these processes.

We have provided a broad range of legal consultancy services, including Commercial Law, Corporate Law, Employment Law, Real Estate and Construction Law, Competition Law, Brand Management and Protection, GDPR, and local projects and audits related to Personal Data Protection.

My team and I also handle litigation, enforcement, and mediation processes for the company group. Additionally, we have been involved in the consolidation of numerous subsidiary companies within the Group.

Finally, together with my team, we initiated the public offering process on the Istanbul Stock Exchange (The Borsa Istanbul) for one of our hospitality ventures.

What strategic priorities are guiding you and your team in 2024?

In 2024, my team and I are focusing on several strategic priorities. These include staying updated on legislative changes, leveraging technology for efficiency, fostering team collaboration, continuous professional development for compliance with evolving legal environments, risk management and compliance, legal research and analysis, contract management, litigation and dispute resolution management, education and awareness, updating company policies and procedures, and providing consultancy and strategic support.

Indeed, these priorities are critical for reducing the company’s legal risks, ensuring legal compliance, and successfully sustaining its operations.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

I am a passionate advocate for diversity, inclusion, empathy, and justice both in the workplace and beyond. Additionally, I am dedicated to advocating for the right to life and welfare of all living beings, preserving the environment, supporting sustainability, and the arts. These passions reflect my love for nature, philosophy, literature, and the creative expression of human experiences. Through my legal expertise and personal values, I strive to make a positive contribution to society and create a meaningful impact on the world around me.
