Ece Tırak Solmaz serves as the head of legal at EssilorLuxottica Turkey, a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses. The company serves industry stakeholders in over 150 countries with iconic brands such as Ray-Ban, Oliver Peoples, and Persol in sunglasses, and Essilor, Varilux, and Transitions in ophthalmic lenses.

Ece began her career at leading law firms, providing consultancy services to both domestic and international clients in the fields of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, projects and competition law. With eight years of law firm experience, she transitioned to PepsiCo, a global leader in convenient foods and beverages, where she served as a senior in-house counsel.

During her tenure at PepsiCo, Ece advised on a variety of issues for both the beverage and food industries. Her responsibilities included corporate law, competition law, compliance and ethics, commercial agreements, and relations with distributors. Additionally, she actively participated in voluntary activities within the scope of PepsiCo’s Pep+ agenda, contributing to numerous initiatives focused on diversity, equality, and inclusion matters.

In 2023, she moved to EssilorLuxottica as the head of legal for Turkey. Presently, she leads the legal team overseeing legal affairs across wholesale and retail levels within the ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses markets. Ece manages a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, litigation, projects, corporate governance, and antitrust regulations. Moreover, she collaborates closely with EssilorLuxottica’s senior management to design and implement legal strategies aligned with the company’s business goals and objectives.
