Head of legal | Pluxee Türkiye
What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
I managed carve out and brand projects in the Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Pluxee transformation and acted as a PMO in Türkiye for both projects.
I am also focusing on personal data protection projects in the company, leading the data inventory project. This involves determining which personal data the business units collect while carrying out their operations. Afterwards, I analyse whether there is a need to make changes in the clarification and explicit consent texts or whether an update is required in the VERBIS record. I also collaborate with the IT team for automatization of the data destruction system of the company.
What strategic priorities are guiding you and your team in 2024?
The Pluxee transformation, aims to provide personalised experiences in terms of ensuring work-life balance, which has become a priority for employees. For this, we target innovations that increase digital-first consumer loyalty. We prioritise our business processes according to the results of this transformation.
Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?
I commenced my legal career as a legal intern at Galataport Istanbul Project before being promoted as a lawyer. The Galataport Istanbul Project is an exemplary global project that features an underground terminal using a hatch system, the first of its kind in the world. After, I moved to the pharma sector, working at Deva Holding as a lawyer (international market). I was responsible for Deva’s international companies, including Devatis de Mexico, Devatis AG and Devatis Australia. Now, I am a legal counsel at Pluxee Türkiye, where I oversee legal matters of Pluxee Türkiye.
I have always been passionate about compliance (risk assessment, monitoring, speak-up, among others), because, in my opinion, a chain is as strong as its weakest link. Even if companies have the best audit systems in the world, the weakest link is human behaviour.
Companies that invest in compliance but put people and culture in the background may eventually face ethical scandals and even corporate misconduct, which can lead to the loss of the company’s turnover. An effective compliance program is important – both in preventing risks and fraud losses, and in attracting new talent and increasing employee loyalty when investing in ethical culture.
