Could you share with us the story of your path to becoming an in-house counsel? What motivated you to choose this career path?

I have always been drawn to the idea of working as an in-house counsel even when I was a student in law school. I am passionate about the intersection of law and business and thrive in environments where I can directly contribute to the success of my company. The opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders, understand the nature of the business, and provide strategic legal advice is something that genuinely excites me. I am committed to pursuing a career path that allows me to leverage my legal expertise in a corporate setting and make a meaningful impact within the company. Seeing concrete reflections of my work in the company motivates me to do more every day.

In your role as an in-house counsel, what are the main responsibilities and tasks you handle on a day-to-day basis?

Considering the global structure and volume of the business of my company, I can say that my most basic and daily responsibility is to manage the workload in the most effective way and protect the interests of my company at the highest level. Along with that, although each day is a new challenge, drafting, reviewing, negotiating contracts, providing legal advice, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and our global rules are my main responsibilities.

What are some of the key challenges you have faced as a rising star in-house counsel, and how have you overcome them?

As an in-house counsel, I face a variety of challenges many of which stem from the dynamic nature of the business environment which my company operates in. Trying to balance the legal and business objectives (which may sometimes conflict) is one of the hardest challenges that I face daily. To overcome this challenge, I tried hard to develop a deep understanding of the company’s business goals and collaborate closely with business leaders and other internal stakeholders to find solutions that meet both legal requirements and business needs. However, this challenge is one of the main reasons why I am passionate about being an in-house counsel. Having such an approach enabled me to improve myself and expand my perspective not only in business life but also in my personal life. The other key challenge is managing the workload. Although facing heavy workloads and competing priorities, especially in a fast-paced and high-growth environment is tough, by developing effective time management and strategies, learning how to delegate the work, and prioritizing the essential, enable me to overcome this challenge.
