What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

One of the most significant transactions we have been involved in was the initial public offering (IPO) process of my company. This included navigating through various legal requirements and regulations surrounding the company’s listing on the stock exchange, the sale of their shares on the stock market, and the process of going public. During the IPO process, EYG GYO broke records in terms of creating approximately 900,000 new investors.

Successfully navigating this complex process required significant attention to detail, a deep understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks, and effective communication with various stakeholders. Despite the challenges, our team was able to support the company through a successful IPO, which has helped to strengthen our company’s position in the market.

We also have been involved in a significant business transaction regarding a new construction project and signed a construction contract for a large piece of land in Istanbul. My team and I were involved in the entire process and negotiations from the very beginning, and we successfully signed the contract. We are planning to start our new project within a year.

We established a new partnership to carry out construction within the scope of urban transformation and signed contracts with landowners to develop projects in many areas in Istanbul.

The team also started building houses for earthquake victims in the earthquake zone in Hatay city.

What strategic priorities are guiding you and your team in 2024?

First, risk management is an important and strategic priority that we have every time. We have to identify and minimise the risks to our company in all areas where we do business and in company related aspects, such as contracts, operations, and data protection.

Litigation processes and contract management are very important for our legal team to effectively manage matters, lawsuits and disputes. We must prepare contracts that will protect the interests of the company at the highest level, enable us to take the fastest and most effective court decisions in favour of the company when necessary, and prevent economic damage to the company.

Ensuring the company’s compliance with legal regulations within the scope of data security and working efficiently to prevent data leakage is also one of our guiding strategic priorities. We are keeping up with the rapid advancements in technology and staying up to date with changes in legislation and judicial decisions.

The increasing use of technology in the legal industry has become more prevalent in recent years, and in-house lawyers need to keep pace with the latest developments to ensure they provide their companies with the most effective legal support possible. This includes using technology to streamline processes, enhance communication, and improve efficiency. In addition, staying up to date with changes in legislation and judicial decisions is crucial for ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, as well as minimising the risks of legal disputes.

I am passionate about the legal profession. This passion makes me lucky and makes it easier for me to achieve success because I love my job. I am an energetic person and I always want to embrace life. My passion for life is my biggest driving force in realising my dreams and allows me to be open to and evaluate the opportunities that come my way.
