What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in? 

The legal team at SAP plays a key role in all transactions involving high-volume cloud, software, or services contracts. We particularly focus on dealing and closing significant transactions toward the end of each quarter. Furthermore, we advise management and business owners on complex legal issues and work with various stakeholders, such as finance, partner compliance, maintenance, and marketing teams.

What strategic priorities are guiding you and your team in 2024?

One of our strategic priorities for 2024 is focusing on contract standardisation and automation. By doing this, we plan to focus on more strategic and higher-value deals. Additionally, as part of a company dedicated to helping customers with their digital transformation, our cloud compliance unit supports this journey with the goals of reducing risk and promoting regulatory compliance. As the legal team, we will also focus on implementing all mandatory obligations, categorising these requirements, and simplifying their implementation.

Do you have a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the defining technology of our time, and Business AI plays a very important role for SAP and our customers. Therefore, it is important that our legal team is ready to provide focused and consistent legal advice to the business on AI topics, from the development of AI use cases to the commercialisation of AI and the use of customer data. Being at the centre of these technologies, following regulatory developments around the globe, and understanding the new terms that apply to artificial intelligence features and technologies is quite an exciting journey for myself.
