Thomas Sager
Senior vice-president and general counsel | DuPont
Thomas Sager has spent the entire duration of his career to date at Dupont, and in that time has certainly made his mark. He helped pioneer the Dupont Convergence and Law Firm Partnering program, which re-wrote the rules for the way law firms worked with clients – it dispelled the “blank cheque” approach in favor of a much more collaborative working relationship based on mutual profitability. It is now a well-established and widely acclaimed program for which Sager still upholds overall responsibility. He is also ‘brilliant on diversity matters’, as noted by Jose Astigarraga of Astigarraga Davis. Sager is a past chairman of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, which champions the expanded hiring, retention and promotion of minority attorneys, and it even named an award after him: the Thomas Sager award, which is given out annually.
