Supporting the Latin American operations of Boston Scientific, the leading manufacturer of medical devices, is an in-house legal team of five lawyers covering Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Central America, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Puerto Rico as well as the Caribbean. Highly praised as senior director for legal and compliance at the company, Fatima Wolf leads the legal team to provide strategic and commercial legal advice to Boston Scientific’s businesses across Latin America, as well as deal with all compliance matters. The legal team provide day-to-day support within all business divisions including HR, finance, investigations, sales and marketing and internal audit monitoring functions. Realising the importance of the role of compliance and its profitability, the legal team have made it a priority to collaborate closely with the business, contributing to the success of the legal function and its reputation.
