First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently?
Recently, we have worked on a review and update of all legal and operational documents to obtain, in addition to the Mastercard International seal with which we have been operating since August 2021, the license to acquire the Visa International seal in the Uruguayan market.
Likewise, in Brazil we have entered commercial information processing and use license agreements with the right to share information from the main regional networks, supermarket chains and retailers. Because of this, we are able to process information from more than 10,000 point of sale; around $500bn are transacted annually through this network, which, combined, allows us to obtain relevant information for Brazilian mass consumption companies. This classified and disaggregated information, consisting of volume sales information, sales in values at the barcode detail level, analysis of sales in promotions per point of sale, price tracking and presence, among other variables, is then commercialised to the main mass consumer product sales companies in exchange for promotions in stores that are members of Scanntech’s Promotions Club platform.
What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?
Our world of solutions aims to provide and equalise the possibilities of business intelligence and technology application that a supermarket chain has, with respect to retailers and small companies, so that it remains competitive in the market and does not lose business opportunities due to the size or location where the establishment is located.
Regarding the internal client, Scanntech works hard to satisfy the needs of all its employees and collaborators, so that they feel comfortable with their workplace and enjoy belonging to the Scanntech community. To this end, we offer opportunities for growth and relocation, flexible work, competitive salaries, full or subsidised health insurance, among other benefits.
What can law firms do to improve their service to the legal department?
Although we are comfortable with the different law firms we work with, I believe it is appropriate to point out as an opportunity for improvement that, despite the fact that the decision is made by the client, it is important that the law firms, when giving a legal opinion, should make a well-founded decision, so as to reassure the in-house lawyer who is consulting them on a topic that is not his or her specialty.
