Head of legal and compliance | Stiler
First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently?
My incorporation to Stiler is relatively recent. In relation to what makes the organisation of the Legal Department, the following was done:
Legal Dashboard identifying: (i) contingencies; (ii) budget; (iii) templates; (iv) reporting (legal memos, highlights); (v) compliance; (vi) LAP (Legal Action Plan linked to the proper administration of contracts); (vii) legal virtual library.
Online information with graphs linked to: (i) ongoing and completed matters; (ii) speed of responses to inquiries; (iii) distinction between matters purely classified as legal consultation vs. preventive issues; (iv) number of requests by departments and users and (v) ongoing legal claims.
Legal committee — Uruguay and Perú.
Annual legal objectives defined with CEO.
Some of the relevant matters of the department include:
Negotiation with the French PMO and PRONIS (Ministry of Health of Perú) to execute stage 1 and eventually stage 2 of a hospital in the city of Cuzco, Republic of Perú. The negotiation with Koululu (UK) for the execution of four schools in the city of Lima, Republic of Perú. And also, negotiations and management of contracts related to the construction of a pulp mill in Uruguay.
What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?
I care deeply about being able to provide an adequate legal service to the company and having the right balance (fine tuning) between the legal and commercial aspects.
