Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense? 

I am in charge of incorporating business interests in legal matters; establishing legal structures to ensure functionality; and improving tax efficiency and safe jurisdictions for outsourcing funding. I also oversee all legal issues related to the development of new projects. Sometimes if the transaction is too big to handle on my own, I hire the best local legal firms to work with me.  

Can you foresee any key developments to the way general counsel work over the next five years? 

Last year we updated compliance policies. This year, I am working with other non-lawyer colleagues in the firm to introduce AI in our internal procedures.  

What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company? 

We introduced a Good Practices Code; during the establishment of the project, we hired experts from PWC to achieve our goal.  

What are some of the key developments (legal, geopolitical, or otherwise) that have affected your business over the past year? 

We have been transforming our local companies into legal partnerships to become more tax efficient by holding offshore companies in safe jurisdictions.
