Tran Bui currently serves as the vice president, legal and local ethics officer at Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam. She joined the company in 2019, with her role operating as part of the senior leadership team. Tran’s key responsibilities include providing strategic legal counsel and commercial support to the business, managing regulatory risk, and serving as the lead counsel on highly sensitive and confidential legal matters. Additionally, she provides leadership to the local legal team. Furthermore, Tran’s role also places a strong focus on governance and compliance frameworks, encompassing the monitoring and tracking of compliance, leading investigations, and establishing a culture of compliance throughout the organisation. Tran also manages corporate affairs and oversees corporate secretarial matters.

Tran led the teams to successfully complete a land lease extension project, which had been pending for over four years. The team also accomplished the due diligence process and the license stage for the Greenfield project beyond expectations. Under her leadership, a culture of compliance and awareness has been successfully built and promoted across the organisation. Tran proposed and successfully implemented a new organisational structure for the legal department, known as the legal partner model of business, to provide effective legal support. Her expertise and contributions have made a significant difference and brought about a remarkable transformation of the legal department, leading to its recognition as a trusted partner.

Prior to joining Coca-Cola Vietnam, Tran served as the head of legal at a Canadian life insurance company. She led the team responsible for all aspects of legal work, including general legal services, regulatory compliance matters, and corporate governance matters related to the company’s operations in Vietnam. Tran received recognition and was honoured as the Asia Star of Excellence by the corporate team. Furthermore, Tran is a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association and the Ho Chi Minh City In-house counsel club.
