What innovations have you made to the way your legal team works in the past year?

In my opinion, in order to perform legal roles effectively within the company, the Legal team must oversee all legal issues in an efficient manner. Over the past several years, we have aimed for time savings and cost efficiencies by developing solutions. We are working to set up contract management, e-document management, and compliance management systems.

Based on your experience, what is the key to collaborating successfully with business partners?

In my opinion, to collaborate successfully with business partners, we must participate in the company’s key activities, align our work with the company’s objectives and mission, and assist in controlling risk, governance, compliance, and confidential information. Additionally, we aim to help the operational departments run smoothly. 

Which political, economic or regulatory changes have impacted your work the most in the past year?  

Changes in the law and the direction of the political system will undoubtedly impact our work. Additionally, the new generation of AI may alter our working methods and enhance our competitiveness in legal tasks. For example, AI has the potential to replace some of our roles in simpler tasks, as end-users can direct their requests to AI for support.

Apart from legal matters, has the team worked on other company initiatives you would like to highlight?

In addition to legal matters, the team has been involved in various projects, including CSR and ESG initiatives. For our development, we emphasise sustainable growth and corporate responsibility towards society.

How do you motivate and manage the other members of your legal team well

To establish a clear direction for the development of the team, we aim to define the strategy of the legal team clearly and allocate work and responsibilities to our team members.

What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about, and why?  

The business-related cause I am passionate about is helping the company develop in alignment with the government’s direction towards a green environment and sustainable development. This approach will enable the company to maintain profitability while benefiting society.

Are the effects of AI on the legal world overplayed, or underplayed?  

AI can often seem more useful in our legal world, as it helps us save time and manage information quickly. However, AI cannot replace our legal work entirely. If we rely too heavily on AI, we risk losing control, which may lead to it becoming ineffective in the eyes of end-users.
