Interview with: Andreas Mylonas, Managing Director and Advocate

What do you see as the main points that differentiate amg mylonas & associates, llc from your competitors?

Our law firm established in 2013 with the vision to offer its clients customised legal services by a boutique law firm, AMG Mylonas & Associates LLC primarily deals with Business and Corporate law, as well as Commercial law, International Tax law, Maritime law, private equity deals, Litigation & Arbitration and Trusts & Asset protection.

“We are more than just a traditional law firm, we think differently, we are innovative, problem solvers but most of all we are great listeners”, Managing Director Andreas Mylonas says. “What differentiates us from other firms is that: we provide personalised services for high-end clients; lawyers are exclusively the ones who are dealing with customer’s requests; and we deliver the services in a short time, under tight deadlines”, he points out, adding that “our law firm’s culture is based on a “can-do” attitude, whilst constantly creating value and give our clients a competitive advantage”.

Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?

“Cyprus’s profile as a financial services centre attracts foreign investment and is becoming a regional base for international corporation’s headquarters. Cyprus’ comparative advantages are gaining in strength, especially with the global changes in regulation and the increasing demand from companies to create business substance”, Andreas Mylonas explains, adding that Cyprus has one of the most modern and favourable trust regimes in Europe and with an updated legal framework, the Cyprus International Trust has become an instrument of choice for wealth protection and tax planning. “Cyprus is also attracting wealthy individuals wishing to relocate to the island and take advantage of favourable EU Citizenship by investment”, he says.Finally, Cyprus is a fully fledged and leading maritime centre which tend for Cyprus to become even more a major shipmanagement centre.

What’s the main change you’ve made in the firm that will benefit clients?

Today’s clients are influencing the legal services of tomorrow, prompting global law firms to rethink the way they work.  When looking for that perfect addition to our team, we think different, we think outside the box.  In order to provide quality legal services, AMG Mylonas law firm  have developed cooperation with associates, outside Europe, CIS countries, in the USA, Saudi Arabia, China.

Also, what really benefits clients is the personal relationship that we develop with our clients which is more about partnership, and as we all know, partnerships are built on collaboration and trust. Clients are demanding greater collaboration in matter management and firms have no choice but to comply.

Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?

Winning new clients starts with a thoughtful website, where potential clients go first as they’re deciding whether to work with you. Even more, if being able to speak to those website visitors directly and answering any questions they might have, it will definitely suffice the purpose.

Technology is bridging the gap of distance and radically altering traditional attorney-client interactions. Thanks to advances in legal technology, firms now can increase their efficiency while engendering a more productive and transparent relationship with their clients.

Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?

We definitely can underline some examples i.e successful mergers and acquisitions, helping startups or entrepreneurs on raise capital from Business Angels or Venture Capital, advising on the development of Real Estate projects and advising clients that dealing in the technology companies industry, blockchain and cryptocurrency. However, the most important for AMG Mylonas law firm is that we believe in a we-can-do attitude and by constantly creating value for the unique goals of each client, we generate even more sustainable value and give our clients a competitive advantage.
