  • Provision of on-going legal advice to a U.S. multi-national client and its Greek subsidiary on all aspects of labor and employment law with special focus on employee outsourcing transactions and “Acquired Rights Directive” transposition into local law and implementation, employment contract negotiation, drafting and termination, redundancy formalities and procedures in general, including severance package calculations, advice on breach by employee of non-compete clause, employee rights on potential business acquisition, etc.
    Provision of legal services with regards to: drafting various forms of amendments of the employment contracts, reflecting several schemes of working out of office, such as exclusive remote working or a combination of working from home and at the office.
  • Provision of advice to clients on various employment matters and drafting of agreements for various types of employees (from top management to office employees) as well as independent consultants.
  • Provision of legal advice to the subsidiary of a U.S. company with regards to claims related to overtime working of a senior executive, also under the perspective of remote working.
  • Provision of legal advice with regards to adjusting the international employment contracts to be put in place with employees working in Greece so as to ensure compliance with local law.
  • Provision of employment law advice with regards to a dispute with a senior executive of the client, who was claiming having been degraded, because of the change of the employee’s role as a result of implementing a new organizational chart across all subsidiaries of the Group in various jurisdictions.
  • Provision of legal advice on Greek Labor Law and review/revising of the international employment contracts to be consistent with mandatory local law, including various types of employment schemes, such as part-time or remote working etc.
  • Provision of legal services and advise with regards to the employment of Greek crew members to serve on board a super yacht owned by a British company. Drafting Crew Contracts of Employment, providing for strict bribery and confidentiality clauses, to ensure performance, excellence and the highest possible quality in the services rendered by the Crew. Provision of legal services and advise with regards to the crew members’ insurance with the Greek Seaman’s Pension Fund.
  • Legal advice and assistance in relation to the issuance of working Visas for various Thai (non-EU) individuals to be employed in a construction project assigned to the company in one of the major oil refineries of the country.
  • Legal advice regarding the renumeration and additional benefits/allowances applying to fuel truck drivers in Greece.
  • Legal advice to a UK company following the acquisition of a business in Greece and in particular in relation to Greek mandatory employment law, including review and revising of the template employment agreement for the UK-based employees. Our advice focused also on IP Greek law concerning employees’ inventions.
  • Legal advice for a U.K. University in relation to the relocation of employees to Greece and the option available for their engagement, focusing particularly on the advantages of a consultancy agreement as opposed to a dependent employment scheme.
  • Provision of legal advice to the company regarding the handling of an employee’s request to work remotely on grounds related to the employee’s health, which were not evidenced. Advice whether the employee’s denial to return to the office would constitute valid cause for termination.
  • Legal advice to a Company regarding the impact to the employees of the transfer of part of its business in particular because of the decision of the new employer to discontinue an insurance policy benefit, focusing on accruals in place and ways to continue the policy.
  • Legal advice regarding the implementation in Greece of the TUPE Directive (98/50/EC), focusing particularly on the notification to be made to the employees concerning the upcoming transfer of business and the formalities to be taken care of by the client as a transferring employer.
  • Review of numerous Employee Privacy notices in cooperation with a leading UK Law Firm for various companies, having a presence in Greece, for the purpose of ensuring compliance with GDPR and local employment law.
  • Legal advice on the new regulatory framework which has introduced stricter monitoring obligations in relation to actual working hours spent by employees. In particular, a new system involving the use of digital cards to be checked upon starting and ending each day’s employment, has been introduced and we are providing advice on the actual implementation to the Company’s staff, including outsourced employees.
  • Provision of legal advice and assistance in relation to the transfer of all the employees of Connect Business, in a newly established company, following the Separation and Transfer of the Connect Business.
  • Provision of on-going legal advice to a U.S. listed client on employment contract termination and redundancy formalities and procedures in general, including severance package calculations including employment contracts’ revision.
  • Provision of ongoing legal advice to an international hotel group on all aspects of labour and employment law, with special focus on employee dismissals, following COVID-19, in conjunction with benefits granted by the Hellenic Republic to the affected travel industries.
  • Providing labor advisory services to a U.S. multinational company with presence in Greece with regards to several issues for working remotely on a permanent basis (including full home-based scheme and various blended schemes), as opposed to Covid-19 mandatory provisions, including amendments of the employment contracts in place, parental leave following recent review of the Greek legal framework, etc.
  • Provision of advice to an international client regarding the closing of its facilities in Greece and introducing a flexible working scheme, including working from home and making use of a Regus membership available to all Group employees. Review of the respective policy for Europe to ensure compliance with Greek Law, drafting of communication to be addressed to the employees. Our advice included also guidance on issues related to the termination of employment agreements as well as drafting of the necessary documentatiion and coordinating with all parties involved, such as Court Bailiffs, Payroll Services Providers, etc. for the completion of termination.
  • Provision of advice on termination of services agreements, which under the circumstances qualify as employment agreements and the respective implications from an employment law perspective.
  • Provision of legal advice to a U.S. listed company with strong presence in Greece on various employment matters and consulting the company on the engagement of third country nationals as company’s executives, officers and Board members and applying for the issuance of their residence permits according to the new Immigration and Social Integration Code.
    Provision of legal advice regarding Covid-19 related measures and in particular vaccination against Covid-19 and impact on employment relationships.
  • Advice with reference to the transfer of employees following the acquisition of a company based in Europe with activities in Greece, as well as with reference to the warrant plan in place and the affect the above acquisition may have to the latter.
  • Provision of legal advice to the client regarding the employment contract to be entered into with an employee relocating in Athens, in order to work under a home office arrangement. The advice included comparison between Austrian and Greek law provisions, the revision of the standard employment contract so as to comply with mandatory Greek law as well as the revising of the home office agreement, so as to reflect the scheme envisaged by the parties.
  • Provision of legal advice regarding working from home. Our advice included also the review of the said client’s Virtual Workforce Agreement and respective Policy to avoid any deviations from mandatory local law.
  • Provision of advice on termination of services agreements, which under the circumstances qualify as employment agreements, and the respective implications from an employment law perspective.
    Provision of advice and support regarding an employment dispute with a new mother upon her return to work-Representation of the employer before the Labor Inspection Authorities and before the Greek Ombudsman.
    Termination of the respective employment agreement upon expiration of the protection period by law.
    Drafting outsourcing agreements for employees to be employed in the implementation of a project for one of the said Client’s customers.
  • Provision of advice on all aspects of Greek Labour Law to an international air carrier, in view of the envisaged entry in the Greek Market and drafting of relevant employment agreements.
  • Provision of legal advice to an international hotel operating company on various employment matters and consulting the company on the engagement of third country nationals as company’s executives, officers and Board members and applying for the issuance of their residence permits according to the new Immigration and Social Integration Code.
