Lund Elmer Sandager has had a long trajectory in the Danish market, with dispute resolution at the core of the firm’s service offering since its inception. Our 14-strong dispute resolution practice group offers a wealth of experience covering the full spectrum of commercial disputes; the team handles cases ranging from general commercial disputes to class actions, real estate and construction disputes, liability cases, and debt collection, through to highly specialized disputes relating to capital market transactions and other complex financial matters.
We represents clients at all levels of the courts. The team is regularly instructed on high-profile cases heard before the Danish Supreme Court and High Court and also participates in arbitrations.
Lund Elmer Sandager is consistently involved in high-profile cases. In the past 12 months, the continuing case representing the more than 2400 OW Bunker investors in a class action with a value of approximately DKK 325 million, which is being handled together with 7 other high-value cases including over 18 attorneys from different law firms in Copenhagen.
Lund Elmer Sandager has advised on several liability cases, including liability in connection with IPO processes, compliance issues in connection with AML, and liability for management and board of directors.
We are experienced in handling large-scale cases, often involving cross-border elements. In addition to its sizable litigation practice, the firm also offers expertise in both national and international arbitration cases.
We have developed niche expertise in disputes involving finance and other financial matters. The firm has particularly noteworthy experience with financial lease contracts, having handled cases that define legal practice in this area.
The team:
Partner Morten Schwartz Nielsen is head of the practice with +20 years of experience in this field. He acts on a broad range of commercial disputes and offers niche expertise in matters involving the financial sector. He assists with complex, large-scale disputes, often involving cross-border elements, and he holds the right of audience before the Danish High Court and Danish Supreme Court. Further, Morten has been a constituted judge at the High Court of Denmark in 2017.
Partner Kristian Buus-Nielsen advises several banks in disputes involving complex banking products and liability in connection with the establishing these products. He is highly experienced in advising the financial sector and business owners, and he regularly represents clients before the high court.
Kasper S. R. Andersen is a senior attorney who advises both Danish and international companies on disputes within banking and finance, corporate commercial, collection, litigation and arbitration. Kasper is very talented, and we certainly expect Kasper to reach partner in some years.
