Team Services

LEX regularly advises private and public entities as well as individuals on public and administrative law. Projects in this area are rapidly increasing in complexity as the regulatory framework of public law is becoming more extensive and elaborate.

Within the practice area, there is expert knowledge in all relevant fields of public law, including urban planning and municipal law. The close cooperation between the different practice areas ensures that relevant expert advice is readily available irrespective of the area of law involved. LEX represents its clients both before governmental authorities and before the Icelandic courts on issues dealing with administrative complaints and governmental permits and approval. Moreover, LEX has argued cases before the courts for municipalities, governmental entities and the Icelandic state.

The Althing’s Ombudsman plays an increasing role in the procedure of public law. LEX regularly assists its clients in lodging complaints with the Althing’s Ombudsman and advises them on the relevant proceedings.

Principal tasks
