Criales & Urcullo has carved out a niche in the real estate sector in advising investment funds on the acquisition of property. The team has a successful track record representing these funds in negotiations with the Bolivian authorities on the property registration process, and advises on the procurement requirements, tax and accounting aspects. As well as investment funds, the group’s client base includes international clients, foreign embassies in Bolivia and real estate developers. Practice co-head José Antonio Criales is adept at drafting complex construction contracts and EPC agreements; he also participates in arbitration proceedings stemming from construction disputes. He heads the team alongside Adrian Barrenechea B. and David Alcozer Alcón, who plays a lead role advising clients on regularisation processes.
