Showcasing extensive experience in issues ranging from climate change and solid waste to green bonds, brownfields and contaminated sites, the department is regularly seen acting for clients in M&A transactions with sensitive environmental implications. Typical instructions also include environmental permitting, agribusiness and forestry matters, and crisis management. The practice is jointly led by two partners: Antonio Augusto Reis, who frequently advises on the environmental aspects of projects, business and financing transactions; and Rômulo Sampaio, an ESG specialist who often assists with carbon markets, waste management and water resources-related mandates. At the associate level, Igor Lyra specialises in dispute resolution involving historical heritage and preservation, while Tábata Boccanera Guerra de Oliveira focuses on climate change issues, licensing processes and contaminated sites. Since publication, former practice head Lina Pimentel Garcia  has left the firm, effective as of January 2024.
