Stikeman Elliott LLP employs a multi-disciplinary approach to advising multinational construction and engineering firms over the course of the lifecycle of projects throughout North America. The team provides comprehensive support to a client base spanning the real estate, energy, renewables, infrastructure and mining sectors. Assisting construction project lenders, owners, investors, contractors, insurers, guarantors, consultants and government bodies, the practice’s full service extends to tender processes, regulatory compliance, construction contract structuring and negotiation, as well as labour and employment and tax matters. The team is co-led by Neil Shapiro in Toronto, a specialist in procurement and dispute management, experienced litigator Michael Mestinsek in Calgary and Jamie Templeton in Vancouver, who brings strength to project finance and matters involving the renewables sector. Former co-head Erik Richer La Flèche retired in December 2022. Dominique Rolland, who was previously an associate at the firm, re-joined as a partner in Montréal in January 2023.
