Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP’s team continues to gain ground in the IP space. In particular, it is increasingly active on the contentious front under IP litigation practice head Andrew Skodyn, who frequently leads patent cases for clients such as Janssen and Actelion Pharmaceuticals. Chris Hunter spearheads the overarching IP practice and advises on IP strategy, acquisition, enforcement and exploitation, including patents, trademarks and copyrights; he also acts on the IP aspects of large transactions. Former team co-lead Melanie Baird left the firm in April 2024.
