Fielding ‘a highly expert team in antitrust matters’, full-service law market mainstay Carey advises local and multinational clients from the retail, pharmaceutical, telecoms and energy sectors (among others). The sizeable antitrust and regulated markets department acts on the full range of such issues, including both contentious and non-contentious procedures before the Antitrust Court (TDLC) and the Supreme Court. It also has a notable track record in securing clearance for complex domestic and multi-jurisdictional M&A deals and joint ventures before the National Economic Prosecutor's Office (FNE); and assisting with cartel and abuse of dominance investigations and litigation. It further assists companies with antitrust and regulatory internal audits that seek to identify potential compliance issues and regulatory risks; and advises on the design of antitrust compliance programmes. The team is co-led by ’assertive’ antitrust, regulation and litigation practitioner Lorena Pavic, who has extensive experience before the Antitrust Court and the Supreme Court, and is ‘very clear in her arguments’; and Chilean antitrust law specialist José Pardo, who predominantly focuses on antitrust, regulatory matters, administrative law and litigation. Pardo’s recent experience includes successfully leading Hapag-Lloyd’s legal strategy before the FNE, in relation to its merger with fellow shipping industry company SAAM. Key associate support is provided by senior Felipe Hepner, with intermediate Ismael Bahamonde (who has former FNE experience), also noted.
