The nine-strong data privacy practice at full-service law firm Guerrero Olivos is particularly active in the TMT sector, while also routinely leveraging the expertise of the firm’s administrative law, IP and corporate departments. The department routinely assists US multinational Microsoft with a range of commercial and regulatory agreements to ensure its compliance with data privacy standards in Chile. The group’s recent workload also includes advising British private equity investment firm Novator Partners on several data protection matters. Representative mandates additionally encompass legal reports on data protection, advising international clients on data breaches, and developing data protection policies for companies. The team further assists with social media and internet-related data protection reviews, data administration and the international transfer of personal data. Juan Enrique Allard, who has longstanding experience in advising TMT companies on data privacy issues, co-leads the group alongside Miguel Coddou, whose broad expertise includes compliance programmes; and public law and regulated markets team leader, Eduardo Cordero, who is another key TMT practice partner. At senior associate level, IP department head Diego Morandé; venture capital, innovation and AI expert Valentina Mora; and Alejandra Leiton, a specialist in regulatory proceedings, merger control filings, compliance programmes and IP, all advise on data privacy matters.
