Cuatrecasas' Santiago office is home to a ‘large team of lawyers with extensive experience in arbitration’. The 23-strong team is sought out to act in local and international disputes over energy agreements, infrastructure, international investment protection, and construction and engineering contracts. The group also covers conflicts involving services contracts, M&A, joint ventures, shareholder issues, and international sales and supplies. A former International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Secretariat Counsel for Latin America, Cristián Conejero is a commercial and investment arbitration specialist, who is currently involved in approximately 20 arbitrations in the Latin-American region; international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution expert Juan Manuel Rey acts under the rules of various institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce, United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), and the Finland Arbitration Institute; and dispute resolution and special situations practitioner Gianfranco Lotito ’knows his files and cases inside out’. At associate level, Alexandra Guerra's litigation and dispute resolution practice includes commercial arbitration; while Mateo Verdías represents investors and sovereign states in commercial and investment arbitrations, in relation to the mining, energy, technology, and oil-and-gas sectors, as well as M&A-related disputes. Former associate Valentina Alamo departed in February 2025 to co-found her own boutique firm.
