Fielding ‘a very professional team in which a commercial mentality predominates’, Carey’s large, 34-strong arbitration practice (including five partners) has extensive experience under a range of local and international institutions, such as the Arbitration Centre of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CAM Santiago), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). It also acts under United Nation Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) rules. Among the group’s several highly-rated practitioners, Juan Carlos Riesco is a national and international arbitration expert, who is ‘actively involved in all the firm’s arbitration proceedings’; Ricardo Reveco represents both domestic and foreign companies in corporate conflict-related commercial arbitrations; and domestic and international commercial and investment arbitration specialist Aldo Molinari acts for clients from the construction, insurance, aquaculture and energy sectors. The team further showcases Mónica Pérez, whose arbitration practice also encompasses pre-litigious advice to mining, insurance, energy, automotive and retail clients; and Roberto Villaseca, whose recent experience includes representing an insurance company in an insurance coverage-related arbitration dispute. Former practice co-head Gonzalo Fernández left the firm in June 2024 to dedicate himself to his role as an arbitrator; senior associate Arturo Fontecilla is no longer at the firm.
