With ’great negotiation and strategy skills’, Marinovic & Alcalde Abogados' seven-member team assists with the resolution of civil and commercial conflicts before Chile’s ordinary courts of justice, Courts of Appeal and Supreme Court. Specialisms for the group (which is also experienced in appearing before arbitration forums), range from administrative sanctioning procedures, free competition, insolvency, reorganisation and consumer law-related disputes, to conflicts emanating from the mining, water and aquaculture sectors. The practice is co-led by civil law and litigation specialist Enrique Alcalde who is particularly experienced in disputes concerning corporate governance, construction, engineering, M&A, and oil and gas matters; and Nicolás Marinovic, who focuses on civil litigation involving contractual liability, torts, real estate leases, as well as complex arbitration. The practice further includes litigation and arbitration expert Benjamín García; Cristobal Agustín Muñoz, a January 2024 recruit from Saavedra & Compañía Abogados, who ‘stands out for his vast experience in labour litigation’; and Tomás Ruiz-Tagle, who is ’distinguished by his legal precision when presenting strategies and solutions’. Ruiz-Tagle’s caseload covers civil and commercial dispute resolution, administrative sanctioning proceedings and public litigation. In the firm’s associate group, Sebastián Lara Bohle is experienced in civil and commercial litigation, while Estefanía Klima Golborne acts in civil and labour disputes.
