The five-lawyer practice at Dentons Chile advises both national and international clients on mining matters, including mining-related arbitral disputes and matters before Chile’s ordinary and specialised law courts. In relation to mining projects, the group’s expertise ranges from exploration, development, construction, operation and closure stages, to the constitution of mining easements. The team is led by mining law and litigation expert Gonzalo Nieto; Jose Ignacio Moran advises on the water and environmental law aspects of mining work; and Pauline Chiffelle is an experienced mining litigator. Among the associate ranks of the Santiago office, the mining litigation practice of senior Jaime Cruzat covers nullity proceedings, oppositions, easements and the expiration of mining concessions; and Cristián Vial’s experience includes mining concession processes, and administrative and judicial proceedings.
