Founded in 2017, specialist mining, environmental and corporate law firm Claussen & Velasco routinely acts for Chilean and international mining companies, as well as businesses operating in the mining sector’s supply chain. The team covers all stages of projects, from implementation to exploitation (along with closure when productive cycles end). The practice also represents clients’ interests during the litigation and arbitration of mining matters. Jointly leading the group at name-partner level, current director of national mining company ENAMI, Carlos Claussen, regularly acts in contentious mining matters; and Felipe Velasco advises mining sector-related companies on commercial, corporate and tax issues. Mining and environmental law associate Lester Maxwell leads the firm’s litigation team.
