The mining department at Dentons‘s Santiago office is composd of mining, environmental, water, energy and natural resources specialists, who advise on all stages of mining project development. The group also routinely defends mining companies in complex litigation. The practice is led by Gonzalo Nieto, who focuses on both mining law and natural resources litigation; his expertise covers the acquisition of concessions, obtaining permits and authorisations, and operational stages. The department also includes José Ignacio Morán, who assists with the water and environmental law aspect of mining projects; and mining litigator Pauline Chiffelle.
