Recent highlights for DS Abogados' four-member environment department include the design and execution of environmental and administrative strategies to permit and build real estate and logistics projects. Other matters for the group include defence-side work before Chile’s environmental authorities and courts, in addition to assisting communities with the submission of complaints against an illegal real estate project. The team is co-led at senior-partner level by Enrique Oyarzún Iglesias, whose recent experience includes extended producer responsibility issues, and hazardous waste and logistics-related projects; and environmental and regulatory law expert Jorge Ignacio García Nielsen. In October 2022, former senior associate Hugo Frías departed the firm for an in-house role at Anglo American.
