Mid-sized firm CEPD fields a four-member tax team that primarily advises HNW individuals on investment diversification decisions; the group’s expertise also includes advising domestic clients on the incorporation of tax-efficient structures when investing in portfolios and real estate assets in the US. It also assists Chilean private equity funds with projects being developed through foreign tax jurisdictions. The team is led by former KPMG in Chile senior tax manager (and personal and corporate tax planning specialist) Juan Pablo Fell. Fell is supported by senior lawyer María del Pilar Poblete and associate María Antonia Serrano, who both assist with the incorporation and funding of family outbound investment structures. In a further boost, senior associate and tax litigator Juan Pablo Obaid was hired from Garrigues Chile in May 2023.
