A&O Shearman‘s China corporate and M&A legal practice fields over 50 corporate lawyers from its Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai offices. The firm is further able to provide PRC law capabilities through its joint operation partner, Lang Yue Law Firm. The team is routinely instructed to work on major public and private M&A mandates, along with privatisations, private equity transactions, joint ventures and restructurings. The corporate practice is also particularly strong in regulated sectors such as financial services, energy and TMT. On the Mainland, Jack Wang specialises in cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and corporate and financing transactions involving China; Ling Li has ’excellent negotiation skills‘; and Benjamin Crawford focuses on cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, and shareholder and commercial arrangements. The APAC corporate practice is led by Victor Ho, who works across the Hong Kong and Beijing offices, while Lina Lee is the Hong Kong office’s corporate department head. The team now also includes Li Chen who has expertise covering M&A, corporate and private equity matters in Greater China, along with China-related investments around the world, energy M&A specialist Sean Wang, and Hong Kong-based corporate and private equity expert Lorna Chen.
