Linklaters works closely together with its joint operation in Shanghai, Zhao Sheng Law Firm, to assist clients with matters that span both Hong Kong and mainland China. The team advises both multinational and domestic clients on a mix of regulatory and transactional issues. Alex Roberts was promoted to partner in December 2023 and leads the TMT team from Shanghai, he focuses on a range of issues from transactions to digital infrastructure and outsourcing. Over in Hong Kong, Carl Fernandes advises investment banks, brokers, asset managers, private banks and fintechs on cross-border regulatory issues. Kishore Bhindi advises on tokenisation and digital green bonds, counsel Albert Yuen assists fintech clients with TMT and regulatory issues and Chin-Chong Liew excels in structured financing and digital assets. Karen Lam is also key to structured finance transactions and innovation projects, while I-Ping Soong advises on over-the-counter derivatives.
