A true Medellín success story, Contexto Legal S.A. maintains a full-service practice from its sole office in its home market, with nationally recognised offerings in corporate and IP law. The firm’s steadily expanding client portfolio includes a diverse mix of local, national and multinational companies, with Premex, Evonik and Grupo Bios among its representative names. Managing partner Guillermo Villegas Ortega heads the corporate and M&A team and also handles labour and immigration matters; he recently advised national vehicle dealership, Autoland, on the merger of two of its subsidiaries in Colombia as part of an internal reorganisation. Andrés Márquez co-ordinates the IP department with senior support from regulatory partner Maria Carolina Vieira, who co-leads the IP and competition teams with an emphasis on contentious work.
