The team additionally stands out for its cross-border expertise, with clients highlighting its ‘capacity and experience to carry out highly complex work on international tax issues’; notably, both domestic and multinational companies utilise its multi-jurisdictional tax capability. Among the group’s recent international highlights, sought-after tax litigation head Catalina Jaramillo represented BlackRock subsidiary, Concesionaria Santa Marta Paraguachón, in landmark litigation against the tax office, following its ruling that the double tax treaty between Colombia and Mexico is only applicable to companies and individuals and not funds. The three-partner group also draws on Daniel Duque, who was elevated to the partnership in July 2023 and is highlighted for his ’outstanding analytical skills’; and Andrés Hernández, who is noted for tax advisory and tax planning for both domestic and foreign clients.
