White & Case LLP advises on antitrust proceedings, including cartel damages, as well as transactions in the context of merger controls; the latter competence was recently strengthened with the appointment of Thilo Wienke (merger control and FDI) to partner at the turn of the year 23/24. The team covers cross-border matters in close cooperation with other locations and is regularly instructed by clients from the automotive, pharmaceuticals, technology and consumer goods sectors. Practice head Tilman Kuhn is experienced in merger control proceedings before the Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission and divides his time between Brussels and Düsseldorf. Former co-practice head Axel Schulz (merger control) joined McDermott Will & Emery Belgium LLP in November 2023. Ingo Brinker (previously at Gleiss Lutz) is well versed in the insurance sector and joined the team in early 2024.
