CMS represents insurers in the defence against claims in connection with (Covid-19-related) business closure insurance as well as in broker disputes. The team also supports financial service providers, DAX companies and trading companies in cases of damage, including major losses and D&O claims. The practice is led by Winfried Schnepp, who represents both in court and in arbitration proceedings and has expertise in advising nationally and internationally active insurance companies and insurance brokers, particularly on private law and regulatory issues. In January 2023, the partner roster was strengthened with the appointment of Thomas Maur, who specialises in insurance law, insurance distribution law and the development of insurance products.
