Taylor Wessing's patent dispute practice builds on two central pillars: technology, which includes IT, electronics and automotive, as well as life sciences, which includes pharmaceuticals, medical devices and biotechnology. The firm represents clients before German and international courts, including the UPC, and benefits from the firm's strengths in the US and Asia. Gisbert Hohagen heads the practice and focuses on patent, utility model and employee law, while regularly assisting with patent infringement, opposition and nullity proceedings. Standard essential patents are a central focus for Dietrich Kamlah, who, alongside dispute resolution, also frequently advises on contracts and transaction-related IP matters. Sabine Rojahn left the firm in December 2023.
