Start-ups, various company founders, financial investors and strategic investors regularly instruct CMS‘ venture capital practice on the founding of start-ups, financing rounds as well as exits. The team acts across various sectors, but has particular expertise in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare and technology sectors; the practice also recently demonstrated its expertise in high-volume later-stage venture capital and growth capital transactions. Practice head Stefan-Ulrich Müller advises on venture debt, investments and financing rounds, while Jörg Zätzsch frequently supports start-ups, venture capital funds and strategic investors along the entire VC value chain. VC expert Frederike Volkmann was appointed to partner in January 2024 and, alongside Friedrich von Spee, regularly advises start-ups.
