DLA Piper's real estate practice experienced several recent team changes. The real estate financing experts Frank Schwem, Torsten Pokropp and Martin Wilmsen as well as Christian Lonquich (transactions and financing, asset management) joined Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner in autumn 2022. The expertise in financing matters was strengthened with the arrival of Michaela Sopp (previously at Simmons & Simmons) as well as with the appointment of Eike Neugebauer to partner in early 2023. The simultaneous appointment of Manuel Indlekofer to partner reinforced the construction law interface. Lars Reubekeul is the sole practice head since early 2023, the former co-head Fabian Mühlen remains a key contact in his role as strategic growth partner; at the same time, Florian Biesalski was appointed to sector leader real estate Germany. Reubekeul and Mühlen are particularly active in transaction support, which corresponds with the overall focus of the practice, while Reubekeul also covers technology-related matters and is a key contact for real estate blockchain, smart buildings and data center properties. Biesalski complements this with transaction-related financing expertise. The client roster includes real estate investors, managers and developers, which the team also advises on ESG matters as well as sustainability-related real estate.
