CMS' consulting portfolio ranges from transactional tax issues, corporate and group tax law to tax compliance as well as succession and asset planning, while in the contentious area, core competencies span company audits and tax disputes; this also includes criminal tax issues. The practice is often instructed by players from the automotive, life sciences, real estate and PE sectors; in addition to companies and groups, however, the group also advises wealthy private individuals. Since Jörg Schrade (cross-border tax planning) joined YPOG in January 2025, Thomas Gerdel, who is experienced in tax compliance and tax disputes, has been leading the team alone.
