Simmons & Simmons maintains a sizeable offering, primarily for hedge fund managers and in relation to retail funds. Chinese-speaking team head Eva Chan, who has strong connections with mainland and international fund managers, is one of several within the team who are particularly skilled in relation to Exchanged traded fund (ETF) work. In this context, Chan is at the vanguard of trends in the space, as was recently demonstrated by her work for Samsung Asset Management on the launch of the first global blockchain ETF listed in Asia. Ivy Yam also has vast knowledge of ETF matters, including as it relates to regulatory issues regarding virtual assets, work which she combines with broader open-ended fund work, including within the hedge fund space. Rolfe Hayden retired in April 2023.
