Led from Hong Kong by the ‘very client-focused’ Albert Cho, Gibson Dunn’s ’strong investment funds practice’ is able to provide ‘creative and solutions-oriented’ advice to both Asia-based and global clients setting up private funds to invest in a range of asset classes and country specific matters. Cho has, himself, developed particular strength in relation to Korean-based private equity funds and is one of many in the team who is well-placed to engage with a preponderance of US investors by virtue of his US qualifications. Associate Kathy Wen is also a key member of the team with expertise advising sponsors on buyout, growth capital, and credit fund structuring, as well as on co-investment transactions and regulatory matters. Of counsel Youjung Byon regularly works alongside the firm’s Singapore office handling private equity, venture capital and growth capital fund formation work for funds investing in the region.
