Oppenheim Ugyvedi Iroda’s dedicated competition practice offers extensive knowledge and experience in a range of antitrust matters from cartel investigations to state aid matters. The team is known for its focus on compliance matters and regularly represents clients in merger clearance cases before the Hungarian Competition Authority assisted by its strong relationships with the authorities handlers. Co-heading the team is István Szatmáry who offers over two decades of experience in competition law matters, and Péter Virág who has extensive experience in EU and Hungarian competition law, both in private practice and at the Hungarian Competition Authority. His practice focuses on antitrust cases, merger notifications, state advice and consumer protection investigations.
