  • Acted for a construction engineering company in a suit alleging damages of KSh450m alleged to have been suffered as a result of their quarrying activities.
  • Acted for the British Army Training Unit in Kenya in defending a constitutional petition instituted before the Environment & Land Court by over 1,500 claimants alleging that a fire that started as a result of a military training exercise had affected the claimants and violated their constitutional right to a clean and healthy environment.
  • Acted for a prominent hypermarket chain in the country in an appeal to the High Court from the judgment of the Competition Tribunal upholding the decision of the Competition Authority which had imposed certain sanctions on the client.

Senior Partner Kiragu has over three decades experience in constitutional matters, tax litigation, procurement disputes, commercial litigation, real estate litigation and arbitration. He has handled complex energy and tax disputes and represents multinational firms, local firms and departments of the Government of Kenya. He has recently been involved in a highly contentious matter regarding the election of the President of Kenya which is probably the country's single most important case since independence having regard to the impact on the socio-political and economic landscape.

Partner Michi has over two decades' experience in successfully guiding her clients through complex matters in commercial litigation and arbitration with a focus on labour and employment, banking, insurance, intellectual property and commercial law. She has undertaken litigation and arbitrations in disputes arising out of commercial contracts, Engineering and Procurement Contracts and Employment contracts. She has handled complex Constitutional Petitions and represents client on tax appeals before the Tax Appeals Tribunal and the High Court. She regularly represents clients in ICC arbitration proceedings, as well as employment, medical negligence claims and insurance based litigation. She is recognised by Legal 500 for her expertise in intellectual property and employment matters.
