Reed Smith LLP’s expanding Miami office has major emphasis on Latin America dispute resolution. It is noted for Section 1782 actions, investor-state arbitrations and Brazil-related litigation. Its illustrious standing in international arbitration stems from the presence of senior figures José Astigarraga (who has stepped down as head of international arbitration) and Edward Mullins, who is the Miami office managing partner; Mullins recently represented Brazilian weapons manufacturer, Condor, in its headline case against Bolivia.
