Having developed close connections to Latin American businesses, the firm has experienced significant growth in investments and acquisitions into the US, including by Chilean entities targeting the renewables sector, along with a spate of intra-regional deals. Colombia, where the firm has a large office, and Peru, are also key markets for inbound deals into the US, especially South Florida. The Miami office is benefitting from the firm’s efforts to grow its Latin America capabilities, which included the hire of a 17-lawyer team from Sánchez Devanny in Mexico City and Monterrey; this provides the firm with greater abilities to target industrial growth and the near-shoring phenomena in northern Mexico. Along with considerable activity in the M&A and private equity spheres, the Miami office has a fine standing in banking and finance, projects, international arbitration, financial services regulatory matters and tax. Aside from the aforementioned Pupo, other prominent figures in corporate and M&A transactions include Aymee Valdivia and Enrique Conde, along with Alexandra Aguirre, who joined from Morrison Foerster in 2022; Aguirre has led teams on a string of deals since joining the firm.
